Every summer, the Intrepid (the aircraft carrier that we visited last year on Kendrick's birthday) holds a Free Summer Movie Series, and last night Kendrick, Carla and I headed over to check out Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark. Obviously. Because it was Raiders of the Lost Ark. On an aircraft carrier!

To prevent crushable munchies (chips, cookies, etc) from disintegrating en route to your destination, place them in a Ziploc bag, and then slide a straw into the top of the nearly-closed bag.
It's getting on towards that point in summer when all I want is a shady spot, a cozy blanket, a good book...and, of course, some delicious food that fits neatly into a picnic basket (not that I actually own one, but hey, one can dream).
Holy oatcakes, is it ever hot out.
I'm not one of those people who handles extremely warm weather with tousled, adorable abandon - I'm more of a frizzy disaster, usually - but my Keratin treatment has pretty much solved...oh, I don't know: EVERY SINGLE PROBLEM I've ever had with my hair.

Saturday was Coney Island Day: always an excellent day for us, and one that we will likely be repeating a couple more times before fall hits (most certainly for the Coney Island Rockabilly Festival over Labor Day weekend).
I was just looking through photos from last summer, and came across this shot of Francesca and me at the Soho House pool (sigh) drinking vodka-strawberry cocktails. And now I want one. What? It's almost noon.
