No trip to Canada is complete without a tarot card reading from my Aunt Trudy, so late last night, after Thanksgiving Dinner #2 at Aunt Jo's, Mom, Trudy and I sat down around the kitchen table with tea and cards.
When it comes to Thanksgiving side dishes (and Thanksgiving generally), I am all about zero kerfuffle (I've always wanted to use that word). It's stressful enough having millions of relatives running around...you don't need to be tinkering with complicated seasonings and fussy sauces in the meantime.
This is a Wagon Wheel. In a near-exact repeat of the It's It San Francisco situation, I have fallen in love. Two biscuits, jam, and marshmallow, and sheer perfection in plastic wrap.
I want to put Sofia in my pocket and take her home with me.
Last night, after fried clams and Coors at Morton's Pub, we all headed back to Trudy's for a little carousing. I'm sorry, Mom wants me to say "an evening of music." Fine, an evening of music. And carousing.
My mom and Trudy thought they were mind-blowingly hideous, but I love love love the '70s look when it comes to tableware, so there you go. Also, each piece was between 49 and 69 cents, so I also love the fact that I won't cry if one breaks.
