Let’s Find Some Pink Retro Chairs, Shall We?

A couple of you asked for places to find retro pink chairs similar to the ones I posted yesterday

Success!

Sort of.

Here’s what I found:

There’s this company called JCaroline, and they create colorful chair covers for popular Ikea models like the Tulista (pictured above with a – obviously not pink – slipcover), the Poang, the Poang footstool, and the Stockholm.

As an alternative, try these selections, from Design Within Reach…

It’s a little more lab0r-intensive, but personally I think the best way to get this kind of look is to pick up an old chair with a cool shape and a wooden frame at your local Salvation Army and get it reupholstered. As I mentioned in the comments, I have my grandma’s old chair in storage, and for years now have been wanting to get it reupholstered. I was thinking pale blue and gold stripes or brocade rather than pink…but we’ll see.

In related retro-chair news, this one is awesome.

If you’re into retro chairs, you have to check out this website – unbelievably drool-worthy stuff (including an Eames-style rocker for $225 that everyone should probably own).
