This, friends, is the glorious sight that greets us every morning when we step outside the front doors of our apartment building. (Just FYI, when we moved in seven months ago this was a peaceful, well-kept, tree-lined street.)
Whenever I moan about the Second Avenue subway construction (which, if you didn’t know, starts every morning – weekends included – at 7AM), people say, “Oh, but won’t it be swell to have a subway stop right outside your aparment?”
Yes. Yes, it will be swell…five years from now. That would be four and a half years after we have fled the neighborhood in a gasping attempt to sleep through the sunrise.
