I Have Discovered My New Look

And it is called “Tourist.”

More specifically, “Elderly Tourist.”

I bought a TRUCKER HAT, you guys. And not just a trucker hat: a vacation souvenir trucker hat (California Love from the AdventureLand store in Disneyland, which is filled mostly with Billabong stuff and which is very clearly a place that one should never purchase apparel, but there you go). And I didn’t just wear this trucker hat…I went ahead and wore it with my vacation souvenir t-shirt (from the Rainforest Cafe – as is proudly noted in bold red cursive across the torso).

(I did not complete the Elderly Tourist effect with socks pulled halfway up my legs, but you never know: my calves have been feeling chilly lately. And had it been cold? I would have been ALL ABOUT my windbreaker.)

So granted, the above photo was taken in the middle of a six-hour car ride through California, and when it comes to six-hour car rides with children anything goes – but here it is, the next day…and guess what I’m wearing?

Trucker hat.

P.S. I am aware that this confession presents a major setback to the already-extremely-mild degree of fashion authority I have managed to cobble together over the years. I am okay with that.

P.P.S. Only semi-related: I was searching around for “tourist tee” just to see what came up, and apparently Maje (one of my favorite clothing brands, albeit one that I own nothing from because it is too expensive) makes something called the “Touriste Tee” (the “e” is to let you know that it is French and thus More Valuable). The tee is kiiiiinda great, especially because it seems like the kind of thing one could totally make oneself. So I think I’m going to try. Coming up.

P.P.P.S. Oh, now that you’ve read this post you want a trucker hat too? Ohkaaaaay, here are some options for you so that we can be twinsies.
