Random Things I’ve Bought (Or Have Thought About Buying) On Amazon Lately

This is not my home office. But I would like it to be please.

Can we all agree that Amazon Prime is sort of the best? I love it. Because here’s the thing: when you live in a major city and don’t have two very small yet very heavy people to carry everywhere you go, nipping out to the store for, like, envelopes is no big deal. But I live in the suburbs, and those two very small yet very heavy people live with me. In other words: there is no store-nipping in my life these days. There are only massive, vaguely hellish three-hour excursions to Bed Bath & Beyond during which I manage to buy exactly none of what I came for because by the time I get to the checkout line my children are Officially Done and I cannot exist in the store for one single more moment.

Anyway, Prime is great, and I’ve started ordering literally everything in my life from Amazon. Yesterday I was trying to remember the name of a product I’d ordered a couple of months ago, and so I started scrolling through my Recent Orders (as well as the products that I apparently occasionally “Save For Later” even though I have zero recollection of doing so), and goodness, are the things I buy there ever random.

Let’s take a look, because it’s Wednesday morning and hump day is a good day for a little time-wasting.

Frye Firebird Boots. When Kendrick and I went to Boston for the Frye shoot, he fell in love with a pair of boots – so much so that I ended up hunting them down on eBay and getting them for him for Christmas. These Firebirds were the runners-up in the event I wasn’t able to find the boots from the shoot. How cool are they?! (They’re also available for women.)

A Box Of Mead 10″ Envelopes. Tax time, whee. (And I am DONE #booyah.)

The Wildkin Camo Lunch Box. Indy is basically a professional eater, and his lunches are appropriately oversized. This lunchbox is sturdy, and not adorned with Bubble Guppies, and roomy enough to hold an entire day’s worth of food. Love it.

The KidKraft Vintage Kitchen. I don’t have space for this. But I keep staring at it and hoping that said space will magically appear.

A 2-3 Bedroom Home Packing Kit. I’ve been squirreling away boxes for the past couple of months – from friends who have moved, from deliveries, et cetera – but still figured I should probably buy one of those home-packing kits that come with, like, tape to indicate which room a given box goes in and such, and so I ordered one. It arrived yesterday, complete with enough bubble wrap to pack…one whole teacup! Maybe two. It might be a 2-3 Bedroom Home Packing Kit in Muchkinland, but not in my house. (Let’s call this “not recommended.”)

Two Mongolian Faux Fur Pillows. Because I’m ridiculous.

And, perhaps the most random purchase that has ever been purchased in the history of purchasing: an Outdoor Turf Rug. (It’s for an event I’m hosting in a couple of weeks. You’ll see.)
