48 Hours In Miami

YASSSS.

OK, so I’ve been to South Beach once before – on a trip to the Yacht Show to film a bunch of BetterTV segments – but this is the first time I’ve been there and had enough free time to actually wander around and see the place. I had no idea that it is essentially Cancun with slightly (only slightly) less nudity, but there you go.

Before we move on, I need to ask: what are those goblet-drinks with two overturned beers in them all about? Do the beers…leak out into the margarita part? I don’t think I understand the physics. Or why one would not just consume these drinks separately, but hey: not judging; the people I saw drinking them looked like they were having quite a lot of fun.

Anyway. My weekend was much less about margaritas and much more about BED.

This one, specifically (that’s the Hotel Victor, on Ocean Drive).

But never one to discriminate about alternative ways to secure naps, I did have this one slightly embarrassing incident: I wandered down to the beach and inquired about renting a beach chair, but since it was three PM and they rented by the day I decided it wasn’t worth it and just sat down on the sand for just a second (fully clothed, no blanket)…

…and then woke up with the sun going down and an an extremely interesting hairdo accessorized with a healthy dose of Miami Beach. It seems someone needed a nap.

My nod to being in Miami: I wore completely ridiculous things all weekend long, because when in Rome, right? One day it was a skintight crop top (a crop top! With short shorts, because apparently I am thirteen)…and at night?

SPARKLY BRALET. (With a Helmut Lang blazer over it because I’m not completely out of my mind).

(Those are my friends Jeremy and Eric – they live in Miami and I never ever ever see them, so I Uber-ed over the bridge for dinner at R House with them on Friday night.)

And then on Saturday, for Day 2 of Cotton’s 24-Hour Runway Show, I wore a white fedora because Miami.
