In the mood to wear today: a loose grey sweater (with an excellent elbow patch), rips and tears, and a spot of zebra…all covered up with ladylike soft pink.
Speaking of pink coats, can we talk about that Eva Mendes for New York & Company version (pictured above)?
I’m sort of “eh” about the collection as a whole – it feels sort of dated and not especially exciting – but that coat. I’m a little annoyed with myself for totally falling victim to the Pink Coat Trend, but for real: every single time I see Eva out and about promoting the line and wearing it, I think “ooh.” Pretty, retro, love it love it.
And now I’m thinking about it on a Tuesday morning, and it’s occurring to me that it’s actually so well-priced ($159) that it’s not a bad way to try out a trend. Which I suppose means the campaign did its job.
