Exciting Announcement: Dove Hair Brand Ambassadorship

So I have some news that I’ve been waiting to share with you for awhile now, but no longer! I am over-the-moon excited to tell you that for the next year, I’m going to be joining the Dove Hair team as their Brand Ambassador.

I mean…Dove. Dove! Beyond the fact that their products have been a staple for me and my family for as long as I can remember, I’ve been struck for years (decades?) now by the company’s approach to real beauty and their commitment to building self-esteem in women of all ages. I remember seeing those ads featuring a lineup of real women years ago (I think it was right around the time I graduated from college) and thinking to myself how beautiful they were, and how cool it would be to appear in one. So to have the opportunity to work this closely with a company that I have such admiration for – it’s a dream come true.

So what does this brand ambassadorship mean? All sorts of awesome stuff: I’ll be testing out products and styles for you, providing my very best hair tricks and tips in posts and videos, working as a “real world” counterpoint to celebrity stylist Mark Townsend, and attending Dove events to provide on-the-go coverage (I’ve got one coming up in the Hamptons that I’m pretty psyched about), among other things.

Another exciting thing about being the Dove Hair Brand Ambassador is that I now have access to all sorts of fantastic Dove products…which means that you now have access to all sorts of fantastic Dove products. So to kick off the program, I’d like to give fifty readers (yes, fifty) the opportunity to try out two products that I’m completely obsessed with at the moment: the Nourishing Oil Care Detangler (I use this every single time I brush out my wet hair, and think it’s an absolute beach bag essential) and the Style+Care Frizz-Free Shine Cream-Serum, which is a lightweight frizz-fighter that you smooth onto your ends to break them up a bit and give them some lovely, healthy shine.

To win your very own full-sized version of both products, just comment below – anything goes, really, but I’d love to hear your very first Dove memory (everyone has one, right?). I’ll pick 50 winners at random one week from today. (Contest open to U.S. readers only.)

Thank you so much to for this morning’s awesome interview and coverage of the partnership!

Dove is a sponsor of Ramshackle Glam.

  • I can’t say what my favorite Dove memory would be, but their shampoo and conditioner is my very favorite, and I’m always super happy to try new products of theirs!

  • Carlyn

I first remember using the Dove Beauty Bar when I was maybe 10 or 11? Leaving for summer camp and my mom told me this was the best to take because I could use it on my face and body. The smell of the original white Beauty Bar will always remind me of the cold showers at summer camp!

  • HT

    Congratulations, Jordan!

  • My first dove memory is of regular Dove Soap…it was the only thing at the time that didn’t dry out skin (before the days of body wash!) and my mom swore by it so of course, I did too!

  • Katie H.

I’m not sure that I remember my first Dove memory, but I will forever associate the smell of their hairspray with my high school prom updo!

    Very exciting, Jordan–congrats!

  • LBrown

congrats, Jordan! very cool. a first Dove memory for me is also the “real beauty” campaign and thinking how wonderful it was to use real women and not models that have been airbrushed in their ad’s. would love the detangler!!

  • Jenna Berman

My first dove memory was with the Original Scented Soap Bar, not only is it the most clean smell in the world but when I turned 10 my Mom taught me the importance of a clean face. I wash my fae every morning and every night thanks to Dove and my Mom. Best lesson a girl can learn, I cant wait to one day give my little girls the same advice!

  • To this day, the only soap my parents ever have is the classic Dove bar.  My mom buys them in bulk and stores them in our linen closet so you get a waft of that nice, fresh scent every time you open the door.

  • winnekat

My first Dove memory is definitely using the soap!

  • My first memory is definitely of the Dove Beauty Bar as well. I have really fair, sensitive skin and in the summers I was constantly sunburned and mosquito bitten – Dove, aloe vera and calamine lotion were the only things that helped me survive!

  • amanda

The deodorant, weirdly enough. I remember someone in middle school telling me it was the only deodorant that wouldn’t irritate my skin. And lo and behold! Been a staple ever since.

  • Erin

When I was about 8 years old, I visited my aunt and used her Dove soap. My skin had never felt so soft! When I went back home, I asked my mom to buy Dove, and I’ve never stopped using it!

  • I looove my Dove deodorant! I literally have a Dove deodorant stick in my desk at work, two at home, and one in my purse. Why? It’s the only one I trust! I love the Dove ads, too! Real beauty all the way!

  • Congrats, Jordan! I remember in middle school starting to have an opinion on what we used in the shower and I begged my Mom to buy the Dove Beauty Bar 🙂

  • Bianca

Hello from your friends at Parazul!
The strongest memory of Dove I have is their viral video Evolution where they show a perfectly gorgeous normal woman being transformed into someone else. I remember the words “No wonder our perception of beauty is so distorted”. I remember being in college at the time and just beginning to feel comfortable in my skin. That ad helped a lot.

  • Katiek20

Dove always made my hair so
soft and smelled so yummy. I remember the clean scent and the way it smelled
when I took my hair down from a pony tail.

  • Meghankwelsh

The smell of Dove bath bars reminds me of the soap my parents bought in our house growing up. I still use them!

  • Natalie Russo

Many congrats!   I love “Real” girls opinions!
Not really a memory but I can tell you that White dove is the only product you are allowed to wash with when you are going through radiotherapy (found out the hard way), that in and of itself tells you what an exceptional product it must be!

  • Katie

What a great opportunity! I can’t remember my first Dove memory, but I’ve been using Dove products since I was a little girl.

  • Mitten

Congratulations! My first Dove memory was using their bar soap. I used to trace the outline of the letters and dove with my fingers while I bathed.

  • Wow! What a cool opportunity! Many congratulations to you!! I love thier new fragrances in the body bars – they smell really strong out of the box, but leave a beautiful subtle scent that lasts all day 🙂

  • Elizabeth S

Congrats Jordan! I saw one of the Real Beauty women speak at my university and was so impressed with her and the campaign. Excited to see what this partnership will bring to Ramshackle Glam!

  • Cristina

The Dove white bar will always remind me of my grandmother, who used it religiously for it’s extra moisturizing benefits. That creamy-clean smell is so nostalgic for me, and I’ve used it myself now for decades.

  • Jamie M

The fresh smell of Dove products has always been a draw in using Dove products. My favorite memories always involved Dove Bar soap after a great day at my grandparents pool. Thanks for organizing this giveaway!

  • thewordunheard

My biggest Dove memory is definitely the launch of the Real Beauty campaign. I was struggling with my weight and my self-esteem at that point and remember feeling so comforted by their assertion that your “beauty” regime could be natural, focused on self-care rather than making yourself appear to be something you weren’t, and didn’t have to adhere to any one standard. To this day the smell of a Dove Beauty Bar gives me a sense of comfort and confidence.

(Not to mention, of course, the memory of using Dove bars to “chalk” congratulatory messages onto my little sister’s car windows for the occasion of her high school graduation!)

  • Lorna Q

Like a lot of people, I have strong associations with the Dove scent. I love their bath products (and deodorant!) and would like to try the hair products.

  • Dana

Count me in too as a major Dove deodorant fan – it’s the only one that I’ve used for at least a decade!

  • Rachael

My first Dove memory is my first true love, in high school, used Dove soap.  And I did (and do) love the smell!  So now I used it on myself, my husband (who is not that same guy) and my kids.

  • raiiin

those dove ‘1/4 moisturizing cream’ commercials! i remember the early 90s commercials with testimonials. oh, and the litmus test with dove soap vs other soaps.  oh man those were some cheesy commercials ha.

and ive always used dove deodorant bc i love the baby powdery smell.

  • I remember those billboards with the women in their underwear. Loved them!

  • meghanelizabeth

    Very exciting! Congrats!

  • Lesley Sueann

my mom bought me dove when, as a teenager, i got my very own bathroom.  it was the exfoliating bar and it made me feel like a grown up, a real woman.

  • Heidi

My family used Dove soap for as long as I can remember and still does to this day. I remember taking a bath as a little kid and over-lathering the soap like they do on TV, ultimately using about 5 times as much as I should have!

  • Jen

Congrats! I am loyal to Dove Curl and Sculpt (the only product I’ve found to hold my curls without weighing them down!) and would love to try some new Dove products (esp. anything that says “frizz-free”!)…

  • Kaitlin Erickson

Definitely my first Dove memory has to be the smell. It is such a strong memory trigger back to the big soap dish in my grandmother’s bathroom.

  • k10nj

    awesome news.. i love dove!!!

  • Valerie M

I remember my Mom telling me to buy unscented dove soap to soothe my sensitive skin – still the only soap I will use to this day!!!

  • Awesome! I have officially made my whole house Dove enthusiasts (especially the guys, who use Dove Men stuff because have two different moisturizers or cleaners for face and body is SO HARD). Love that it is something you can get in a grocery store that still looks, feels, smells, works like something from a salon or higher-end store.
First memory I can recall of Dove: when they started making cucumber scented deodorant when I was in middle school and all the girls were like “OMG I don’t have to smell like baby powder all the time and this totally matches my Cucumber Melon body spray and lotion and lip gloss and scented fake Henna tattoo!” That scent still brings me back to awkward first crushes and slow dancing to Stairway to Heaven for all 8.5 minutes. Ah, memories.

  • jordanreid

that’s very similar to my own first memories with the line – i remember having the shampoo and conditioner in my own bathroom and feeling extremely sophisticated 🙂

  • Margaret

I’ve been using their body wash for years – love how it’s great for sensitive skin!

  • Dana D

I remember my dad always having a bar of Dove soap in the shower when I was little. To this day, any time I get a whiff of that smell, it reminds me of him! 🙂

  • Chelsy

This is so fantastic – congratulations! What an amazing company to be working with – I love all the healthy body image promotion they do. When I was in high school and learning how to deal with my super sensitive skin, my mom gave a box of Dove’s bar soap and I haven’t looked back since! Their soap is so calming and neutral with the best scent.

  • dove soap is the only soap i will use – all others dry out my scaly, pasty, white skin!

  • lrp100

I’ve been using the soap for as long as I can remember! I love it

  • Stephanie

My first Dove memory was pretty much my first soap memory. I remember when I was probably about 8 (ish) my mom had the whole family switch to Dove, and I think my whole family is still using it today. Probably my FAVORITE Dove product ever was their cucumber firming lotion, cause that stuff TOTALLY worked. No more cellulite AND it smelled awesome!! My thighs were pretty bummed when that formula went bye bye 🙁

Btw, congrats on being an ambassador!! Sounds like fun!!

  • Jennifer

Congratulations on such a neat opportunity! My earliest memories of Dove are at my grandmother’s house. She always used the pink Dove “beauty bar” and to this day the smell of it is so quintessentially her. The classic white Dove is still my favorite soap and I love that they’ve expanded their line into other hair and skin products.

  • Alex

Congratulations! I remember when I was younger, probably 12 and my mom told me not to try all those fancy make up and face wash things I wanted to use and to try something simple  like Dove soap.  Well I did this for a while and my skin looked great and then of course come 13 or 14 and I put every stupid dollar makeup product on my face I could find.  Should have stuck to Dove 🙂

  • K8eLogan

What a fun opportunity for you– congratulations!!   I don’t know what my first Dove memory is, but the one that sticks with me the most is the advertising campaign where they show “real” women.  It’s always so refreshing to see models that look “normal!”  For that campaign alone, Dove is a company I really admire.

    • jordanreid

      agree 100%!

  • Aubrey

Such an exciting ambassadorship – if I had the choice of an ambassadorship with any top brand, Dove would probably be my first choice! My love affair with Dove began as a young girl at bath time with Dove’s unscented bar soap (my mom insisted it was the only soap I use!). I now swear by their body wash and deodorant (their fresh scent is the BEST) – and I love their shampoo line too!

  • Allison

How cool! One of my favorite Dove memories (can’t quite remember my first) is using Dove shampoo/conditioner as my staple during high school swim season. My friend and I went in together to split two giant, Cost-co size bottles and used it every day, twice a day to get rid of the chlorine smell from morning and afternoon swim practice. 🙂 I have naturally frizzy hair AND live in the hot and humid south – would love to try these products!

  • Christina

    YAY!! That’s great news 🙂

When I was very little I was the closest to my uncle, who was only 13 years older than me. When he would pick me up and spin me or we would play outside, I would smell the scent of Dove because it’s the only soap he used – then and now. Every time I use it it reminds me of my childhood.

  • Jessica

    Great news, congrats!

  • Meg

I have been using Dove bar soap on my face for as long as I can remember (so no one exact memory), and whenever people ask me what I use to get such clear skin, they’re always shocked when they learn it’s just a bar of soap!

  • Kristina Clasby

My first memory was using the soap in the bathtub when I was younger.

  • That’s awesome!  I need that oil stuff!

  • Dgredder

First Dove memory: breaking out into bad excema and my mom telling me to switch from Ivory to Dove. And it worked! I use their shampoo, conditioner, body wash and deoderant. It’s the only soap I’ll was the babies in! Always looking to try new stuff! Congrats on your new opportunity. Your plate is so full and you keep ot all together and keep us entertained as well.

  • Francine

When I was a kid, I loved the smell of Dove so much that I wrapped a bar of it in a dry washcloth and tucked it into bed next to me as though it was one of my dollies. Weird but true. I was attached to a bar of soap. I still love the smell of that stuff and associate it with my childhood.

  • Beth Bates

This stuff sounds awesome! My fav memory is using the classic dove soap growing up.

  • Confession: I’ve never tried anything Dove. How is this possible? Congrats on the new gig! I don’t know how you do it all. Are you sure you don’t have a clone?

    • jordanreid

how funny! you NEED to try the detangler – it’s just the best. and no clone last time i checked – although one would certainly be nice for the early-AM wakeup calls! big kisses to baxter and baby.

  • Leah

My earliest Dove memory is not about hair products but their soap.  My grandma always swore by using the pink dove moisturizing soap bar on her face.  I always loved the smell and it still reminds me of her!

  • Sara R.

    Congrats! 🙂

My mother has used Dove bars since the beginning of time.

  • Jenna

I was grocery shopping with my Mom when I was little and I reached for some other type of soap (Ivory? Dial?) and she took it out of my hand and told me, “No, Jenna.  We only use Dove in our house.”   And that’s when I learned that in the soap aisle, my options were limited to “White”, “Pink”, or “Unscented”.  I’ve enjoyed watching Dove expand into other arenas (I recently tried their mousse – great smell!) and those commercials totally made me cry.

  • Dove was the soap that my parent’s used to use when bathing me as a child, so the scent always brings me back to my childhood.  As an adult, I switched around a bunch and didn’t really have an allegiance to any one brand.  But then, when my soap’s left my skin super dry, I tried Dove again and HAVE NOT LOOKED BACK SINCE.  It’s all I use (including my deodorant) and I LOVE it.

  • Michelle

Dove conditioner is my holy grail. Hands down the best I have ever used. I would love to try these new products 🙂

  • I LOVE Dove products! I started using the soap after I had my kids and my skin was more sensitive, and over time I’ve switched to now using All Dove products for my skin, hair and body. Congratulations, Jordan! This seems like an excellent match for you AND Dove!

  • LinnC

When I was a kid, I thought Dove was the fancy soap.

  • Dani S

The white Dove soap was, is and forever will be my most fave beauty product. Congrats!

  • Antheapena

Congratulations Jordan on becoming an ambassador for such a fabulous company!
As a Brit in NY for many years I still remember trawling the drugstores ( still some of my favorite haunts!) amazed by the selection, Dove stood out & still does as great quality, affordable prices & groundbreaking products.

  • B Cres

Congrats on becoming an ambassador, such an exciting opportunity! I remember when they first launched their Real Beauty campaign, love  love the message!

  • Ashley

Congrats on being an ambassador!  That’s awesome.  I definitely remember that real beauty campaign – I think it was one of the first times I had ever seen a woman my size in a magazine, in her underwear.  That was really cool.

  • Caroline Reusse

I’ll always remember Dove as being an essential in my family’s household growing up—especially their classic bar of soap. Congrats on being a part of such an honest and inspiring brand!

  • It was the first shampoo I ever tried that made my hair feel “normal”.  Most envious of your Ambassador status! (.:

  • Gina Isabel Fentiman

I really don’t remember when it was, but I always remember how good the Dove soap smells, unfortunately haven’t been able to try the hair products, but if they are as good as the soap, then I want to win 🙂

  • Congratulations on being the ambassador. My very first Dove memory was one of great relief. I’ve tried many sensitive skin products and usually have to buy baby products. I remember being so happy that I could use Dove and actually get my products from the grown up section.

  • Katie

Dove products remind me of my grandparent’s – it is a staple at their house – especially the bar of soap.

  • Jasmine Williams

Dove started being apart of my life a few years ago. I remember when you guys had the commercial where a competitor was put up against Dove soap. The competitor left you with soap scum. So after I said that I was sold to you guys and have been using Dove soap because I didnt want to be embarrassed from soap scum lol :).

  • Sarika Parasuraman

Congrats, so exciting! My parents have stocked Dove soap in their home for as long as I can remember. In recent years, they’ve tried the newer scents and formulations, but I grew up using the original moisturizing bar. Every so often, I’ll try a new body wash or something but always end up back with Dove.

  • lmr2020

My mother used Dove and her skin was always like silk. First memory of a great product! I now use only Dove Nutritive Therapy Shampoo and Conditioner exclusively.

  • Betty

I haven’t tried either product, but I’d love to. I tried the shampoo and conditioner, and both were wonderful!

  • Sarah C.

Congratulations, what great news! I am a huge fan of Dove products…not sure what my earliest memory is but I have been using Dove soap for over two decades. I love the gentle exfoliating bar soap and it is the only thing that cleans without making my sensitive skin dry and grimy, plus the scent is wonderful and doesn’t overpower. I don’t know what I would do without Dove products. 🙂

  • Erika Thomas

What an opportunity! They could not have picked a better person. I have used Dove’s beauty bar for so long. It exfoliates my skin without being too harsh. I love it. I always buy the humungous supply pack because I just have to stock up. Congrats! 🙂

  • Lauren

Congrats! I’d love to try both products. I’ve been looking for a good frizz serum – I’ve tried a few brands but haven’t tried Dove yet.

  • Anne L.

I grew up with Dove!  I remember bath times with that bar of soap.  After a teenage obsession with ridiculous bath products from Bath and Body Works, I rekindled my love for Dove with their real women campaign years ago.  Such a wonderful company!

  • Congrats, Jordan! I also love their real woman campaigns and find myself always buying their body wash because of them. Good luck with the partnership, sounds really fantastic!

  • JM

    I love their deodorants. Congrats!!

  • kwal

I’ve used Dove soap for as long as I can remember. Had to use a different soap when I went home and I remembered just why I love Dove.

  • Kira

Congratulations! This sounds like a really fantastic opportunity. I looove Dove and use it for most Beauty needs, so it’s impossible to even think of my first memory with the brand.

  • Heather

Congratulations! I, too, used to use Bath and Body works until switching to Dove soap (for sensitive skin).  I love the way it makes my skin feel.  Would love to try the new products!

  • This is awesome, congratulations! Dove is an inspiring company and they work really hard to make women feel and look great while being themselves. You will be a great ambassador for them! Their “real women” campaign really signified a shift for me in terms of my beauty and style. I have them to thank for helping me “be me.”

  • Rachel Phillips

Congrats!  I love Dove products, I specifically remember always using the pink dove bar as a little girl.  Would love to win these hair products!

  • Ilanaks

Thats so great!  I love their face and body prducts but have never used any of their hair products

  • Alex

Growing up, there was always Dove soap in the bathroom, and I have particular memories of taking a shower or bath in the summertime after spending the day at the playground.  So nowadays, if I want to flash back to that time, I can get in the shower with a bar of Dove soap and be instantly transported to the feeling of summertime when I was a kid : )

  • I remember living in Boston and working at my first job and helping staff a promo campaign for them as they were launching real beauty. I thought it was so awesome and it was so easy finding women to work for the campaign. Fan ever since 🙂

  • kate

i remember i was in middle school when they were really emphasizing the beauty of every woman’s various shapes and sizes, which was an awesome message to hear during a time that made me so body conscious

  • emily n.

love the grapefruit and lemongrass smell of their products. it makes me fell clean and just smells fantastic.

  • Shana

Love that the products are gentle on my sensitive skin ever since I was a bitty one! Also, love their efforts to showcase a variety of beauty. It’s sadly still very rare.

  • Laurenkb

I love the clean feel and smell of the original bar!

  • maura

I prefer bar soap to bodywash – always have. Most bar soap is crap! But dove is great – a classic, clean and cheap choice.

  • Ronja

I love the scent and softness of Dove… the original bar is still my favorite shower wash to this day!

  • Noelle

I’ve used at least one Dove product almost every day since junior high! (Not too difficult since I use their deodorant every morning, but still.)

  • Becki Peterson1

I love that they are making every woman beautiful in their own skin! I’ve always loved their products and my family and I will continue to use them in the years to come

  • rgdovereader

My Dad left a bar of Dove for Men soap in my bathroom when he came to visit. Now everytime I see it I think of him.

  • Katherinewroble

I remember reading 17 (when i was 15) and seeing the ads for the real women. Love your photo Jordan!

  • Tara Wilkins

I have always loved Dove products!

My favorite memory is a recent one:  I recently moved from Texas to Kentucky to be closer to my family.  My dad (of all people!) mentioned how soft and shiny my hair is.  I revealed to him that I use Dove shampoo and conditioner.  Now HE uses Dove, too!  It’s just one more way for me to stay connected to my dear old dad.

  • Jennifer

Love the original bar soap! A classic.

  • Anonymous

I love Dove – especially the deodorant and soap.  Simple staples but effective.

  • Elizabeth

What exciting news!  I just tried the heat styling spray you recommended a while ago and love it.

  • katie

So happy for you! I love dove products! Especially their new dry shampoo!

  • Eva

I don’t remember the first Dove campaign I saw, but my favorite one depicted a real woman being transformed into a model through the power of makeup and photo-editing, which was very eye-opening for me as, you know, a real, non-photo-shopped person.

  • MR

I almost killed my husband when he bought a giant vat of dove shampoo at SAMs club….but now I’m addicted,

  • BoxLR

I think my first memory of Dove products was summer camp as a kid – for some reason, I always used Dove soap while at camp…

  • Katie

Yay! Good for you. I think you’re the perfect person for Dove!

I started using their soap back in middle school. Good stuff.

  • Tatiana

Dove was the soap my mom bought at BJ’s (and maybe still does?), so my earliest memory is actually having to jump out of the shower upon discovering there was no more soap and trying to wrassle a new bar loose from the cardboard box.  Hurrah for soap! And real women!

  • SparkleKRanch

    Dove is my fave shampoo!

  • Rachael Barry

I would love to try that detangler.  I just ran out of the one I usually use.

  • Meg

    Congratulations Jordan!!

I love dove soap because it reminds me of my grandma’s bathroom from when I was a little girl. Anytime I smell it, it’s instant time-travel.

  • Staci

Ooh as a girl with naturally curly hair (see staci_renae on instagram), I am super jealous of your opportunity to try-before-you-buy. A few times a year my lady friends come raid my products that I only used once or twice.

  • Natalie

My first memory of Dove is using the soap at camp. It was the perfect thing to have on hand after long and sweaty days in the sun.

  • Congrats!!!!  Loving the picture. Very yummy mummy!

  • Maria Gascon

I really like Dove products, but I don’t remember my first experience with them! I do have a Dove soap in my bathroom though!

  • ehubbsk

I can’t remember my first Dove memory, but I’ve used Dove bar soap in the shower for as long as I can remember

  • I feel like my first Dove experience had to have been with the classic soap. My mom always switched between Dove and Ivory.

  • Shannon

Congrats Jordan! I’ve loved Dove since I was a little girl spending the weekend at grandma’s house and getting to open a new bar of “big girl” special soap to use. The classic scent is part of my favorite memories!

  • meg

Yep, the white bar soap is definitely a pretty solid memory. I also recently switched to their deodorant and really like it. Would love to try these out — my hair’s somewhere between curly and straight and gets super frizzy and tangly, especially in the summer.

  • Manda

Like Renee, my mom always had Dove or Ivory soap in the bathtub growing up.  A staple!  But I’ve always appreciated their marketing of real women as well.

  • Sandersite

Congratulations – how awesome to be dove ambassador!!

  • Amarilis

We have always used Dove soap at our home! We bought Dove soap bars for years until the body wash came out… I only buy Dove body wash and now my husband uses Dove’s Men+Care line! Can’t wait to try out Dove’s hair products, especially the Nourishing Oil Care Detangler which sounds perfect for the summer!

  • Sarah S

I remember toting bottles of Dove with me into the swim team locker room after practice.

  • Heather L

Congrats Jordan!  I use Dove bar soap for sensitive skin every day and I love it!  I have very sensitive skin, I get hives when I use a lot of products, so I am happy that Dove has simple clean products.  I also got the chance to hear one of the women, Stacy Nadeau, who was in the original Real Beauty campaign speak about her experiences- being chosen, doing the publicity(including the Oprah show!), seeing pictures of herself aroung Chicago, and dealing with the compliments and the negative reactions as well.

  • Andersonkq

When I first began wearing makeup, my mom recommended Dove soap to wash it off at the end of the day…the scent takes me back to those days and brings a smile to my face. It’s a beauty staple that’s still part of my routine even now.

  • sarahhelen

I started using Dove when I met my husband 10 years ago and never looked back! Now i use almost exclusively Dove products!

  • Kristin M

Dove was the first facial moisturizer I used…. I used them for YEARS and sadly I think they were discontinued.  Anyhow, have been a huge fan of their “real women” models for their campaigns.  Congrats, Jordan!

  • theshizzles

I don’t think this is my first memory but I absolutely love their real beauty campaign. They use real women and real bodies and I adore them for that!

  • Molly

Congrats, Jordan! I love Dove products…their bar soap always smells like home to me.

  • jhager027

I remember my grandmother and mother always using Dove bar soap. It’s a classic!

  • Becca

Congratulations! My favorite Dove memory is the smell of the Dove lotion I used while I was studying abroad in Paris. I couldn’t afford fancy french perfumes, but I loved the smell of this particular lotion and it made me feel sophisticated and chic on my student budget! I can’t find it anymore but the smell still makes me so happy and deeply nostalgic.

  • Ali

Congrats, Jordan! My family always used Dove bar soap growing up, so that’s what I always think of when I see Dove products 🙂

  • Congrats!  I love Dove! I always use their moisturizing shampoo. It always leaves my hair nice and soft! <3 I dye my hair a lot so it was nice to feel such soft silky hair after using their shampoos 😀

  • Congratulations Jordan!  What an awesome partnership! I, too, remember the Dove advertisements with different shaped women as beautiful, and LOVED it.  I’ve actually never used Dove products, oddly enough, so I don’t have any “first” moments, besides the advertisements. 🙂

Congrats!  My hair could DEFINITELY use ANY of these products.  THANK YOU!

  • Oh man, my hair is going to NEED some detangler since I’m spending most of my weekends at the beach from here on out.

I really just entered because I like free stuff, but I started thinking about my first Dove memory and I realized Dove was always a “grown-up lady” soap in my mind. When I was little, I got Ivory for my baths, but my mom used Dove for her face, and I always tried to sneak it because it felt so much softer and luxurious.

  • Congrats Jordan! Such a great partnership and totally exciting.  My first memory of Dove dates back to when I was around 3 or 4 years old.  My mother used to drop me off at my grandmother’s house while she went to work.  I was an avid painter ( water colors) and I remember my grandmother always using Dove soap to scrub off this little Picasso after I made a huge mess.  The smell of their products still take me back to those days.

    YAYYYY!!! Congratulations!!!
I really love Dove Sensitive Skin Unscented Body Wash.
I’m allergic to EVERYTHING. But this. It is perfect for dry/allergy prone skin. And my grandmother washed her face with dove bar soap every single day and had PERFECT skin.

  • Jamielbell

Congratulations! What wonderful news! I am a big fan of all Dove products but regularly purchase their Dry Shampoo! It’s weightless and has a light, clean aroma!

  • Midestiny09

    Wow! That’s Awesome!!
Dove is my favorite. I love them all, but I usually use the original/white bar. Dove is really refreshing & make my skin smooth & soft. Even the hair product is great.

LOVE the idea of the instant oil detangler for beach and pool. . . and I bet a few squirts on the ends pre-pool will help keep blond strands from soaking up the telltale chlorine green . . .

  • My first vivid memory of Dove was arriving on campus my freshman year of college. I had to fly, so I couldn’t pack much, I didn’t have a car, and things like toiletries were just things I was going to have to figure out once I got there. But alas, a wonderful little gift bag filled with dorm essentials awaited me, including Dove shampoo, conditioner and/or body wash. Made the first week SO much easier, I remember!

I have been using Dove Body Wash, Deodorant and Bar Soap for years! I also just recently discovered their dry shampoo and love it. And you’re right Jordan, that first ad campaign (and every one since) is just stunning. I love seeing those women looking like me and rocking it! The world needs more companies like Dove.

  • pippip

hmm, not sure about my first memory…but I want that detangler.  I’m already a fan of their deodorant.

  • I reach for Dove when I want something that will leave me with a clean scent.  It reminds of my mom back in the day.

I went to an inspiring Dove sponsored event my freshman year of college. The guest speaker was a well known author who struggled with anorexia in her early years.

My hair hates humidity. Hates, hates it. I got those annoying baby hairs that stand up around the ends of my bangs. I need a product that will help me because I can’t spend all my hard earned money on the salon. Would love to Try out these dove products pweeeeeease

  • Srouser

Congrats, Jordan! LOVE all things Dove. Originally fell in love with the shampoo because of the amazing smell. Currently obsessed with the dry shampoo…!! Dying to try the detangler.

  • Sarah

My first Dove memory is my grandmother using the bar soap.  We now live in (and own) her old house and I use the sensitive skin version of the same soap.

    Congrats on your ambassadorship!

  • Caitlin

Mine is smelling my boyfriend, now husband, after a shower.

  • Fabamanda

To me, Dove means moisture.  Love it!

  • Tjw28

I remember my mother telling me that it’s the only soap I should ever use on my face.  This was when I was about 13 or so, and I’m 30 now and still loving it!

  • SDR33

My first Dove memory is probably just the regular, white Dove soap bar in the bath as a child. It’s still my go-to for bar soap and liquid soap, too; there’s something that has always felt so pure and nourishing about Dove’s soaps.

That aside, I have crazy thick, super curly hair that nothing works on alone (aka. I use a super moisturizing hair treatment for 5 minutes THREE DAYS per week, and then after the shower I use “a little” Pantene conditioner, Frizz Ease spray, and an olive oil leave in thing – oh, and usually I still have to put my hair up towards the end of the day to contain the frizz). So, I’m ALWAYS looking to try new products. Even if I’m not one of your 50, I will definitely be checking back here to see what people have said about the Dove products.

  • Amanda D

I love the Dove anti-frizz shampoo/conditioner collection! But my first memory is the white bar soap my mom would always buy.

  • Congratulations on the partnership! Those hair therapy products look great. I love using the Dove bar soaps because they leave my skin so soft and moisturized.

  • Amanda Fultz

All Dove products are practically guaranteed smooth, soft skin and hair. Nothing ever compares to how my hair feels after I’ve shampooed and conditioned with Dove. I’d love a chance to try their detangler because despite the fact that I’m a low maintenance hair gal, detangler is a daily MUST for me.

  • Dominiqueck

My mom used to buy Dove bar soap when I was a kid because we all had sensitive skin. I also used to buy the travel size hair spray to throw in my purse for touchups on the go. i still love teh smell of it!

  • Neeky

When I moved to the US to be with the man I would eventually marry, he used white Dove soap. It will always and forever be associated in my mind with a warm, loving feeling. I just wanted to keep breathing him in.

  • Juliet W.

    Congratulations on this new opportunity!
The first Dove product I remember using, and the one that is still my “go-to” is the Pink Beauty Bar.  There is something about the shape, scent, and soft pink color that still feels simple and girly, and always does the trick for getting nicely scented and moisturized skin.

  • Katie

My first memory is the white dove bar soap.  I use it to this day because it leaves my skin moisturized and smooth.

  • Valeri

Congratulations, Jordan! My first Dove memory is definitely their bar soap. Who knew it could be so moisturizing!?

  • Linda

bar soap in the bath when i was a little one!

  • stealthnerd

It had to be the  bar soap as a kid–even now, Dove is the only bar soap I’ll buy.

  • Maddie

It might not be my first, but my best is giving my nephew his first bath with a Dove Baby soap bar. The smell still reminds me of him.

  • Mikey

Not quite my first, but I remember my boyfriend repeatedly insisting that I buy him Dove bar soap because that’s what his mom always bought him, damn it. I was a bodywash girl but finally threw a pack in while shopping at Fairway…long story short, my boyfriend’s never used it; that bad boy is mine, all mine!

  • Allison

Dove is the only soap that I have ever used…love the smell and the fact that it doesn’t leave a film on my skin.

  • abby

Just recieved the products and LOVE them both.  The Frizz Free Shine and Serum Cream feels and smells heavenly!!!

  • Faith09

My first Dove memory was seeing a Dove product (soap) in my house…only it wasn’t mine to have. Since then I’ve always begged my mom for her Dove because I love the smooth feeling it gives my skin. The commercials that advertize Dove always make me want to buy whatever  product they’re selling. I get so excited, maybe too excited, whenever I get my hands on some. I really feel like I’m taking great care of my skin, and that’s always a great feeling!

I would luuuuuve to sample out the Dove Nourishing Oil Care Detangler and  Style+Care Frizz-Free Shine Cream-Serum. I’m on the lookout for finding something that’s great for my hair. I try to make it as tamed as I can, especially knowing the weather today. I want something that isn’t harmful to my hair (like taking out it’s moisture and damaging it). I want something that’s gentle on my hair like I would for my skin. I’m sure the Dove detangler and serum has no problem doing that.

  • Eleanor

Well, got an opportunity to glance over this page, thanks to my project!
It’s a pleasure to share that Dove’s the best product i ever used ,whatever you name that’s required in the product it has got it,be it soap, it’s splendid,or be it’s shampoo, makes me love my hair!
