Navy + Orange + A Bag For You

Good morning!

So navy and orange is a really good combo.

I think so, anyway.

The pairing is very classic and summery and kind of Hamptons-y…but in a much more interesting way than, say, khaki and white, and in a much less headache-inducing way than, say, hot pink and lime green.

This is the kind of look I don’t do often, what with the dress’s longer (for me) hemline and body-conscious cut and the bag’s preppy-ish feel – but I think it’s a pretty, ladylike (but not too ladylike, thanks to the whole one-shoulder-animal-print bit) option for anything from brunch with friends to a bridal shower to a date.

This Parazul Scarf Bag is quite the task-master: it works as a weekend tote, airplane carry-on, briefcase, or diaper bag, and what I like most about it is that while it comes with a monogrammed silk scarf, you can easily swap in your own scarves to switch up the look (I threaded in my favorite vintage silk scarf, which used to belong to my grandmother, to give it a summery pop of color).

And!

Parazul would like to give a Black Classic Bag (retail value $250) to one RG reader. To enter, just “Like” Parazul on FB and join their list (also located on their Facebook page), and write a comment on their page mentioning that you entered the giveaway.

(I threw in my favorite ridiculous shoes just so that nobody would confuse me with a Lady Who Lunches, what with the tailored totes and all.)

P.S. Why is my head cut off in two out of three of these photos? Because apparently I was in quite the cheeseball mood, and was making a ridiculous headshot-style expression in every single shot. To give you an idea: that top photo is the least cheesy of the set. Yes.

On me: Dress c/o Persifor, Bordello shoes, Ann Taylor navy bracelet, vintage scarf (on bag), Courtesan Studio crystal bracelet, earrings c/o Ippolita, bag c/o Parazul.

Giveaway open to US readers only; winner chosen randomly; contest closes Friday, June 1, 2012.
