EMMA & REILLY’S GUEST POST: DIY MIRROR FRAME

The above picture is of the mirror in Emma’s room – she and a friend created a painted frame for her mirror using stencils.

What you do:

1. Trace the outline of the mirror on a large piece of paper.

2. Create a stencil pattern that fits either 1/4 or 1/2 of the frame.

3. Trace the outline of the mirror onto the wall.

4. Cut out stencil; trace pattern onto wall.

4. Fill in pattern with paint; hang mirror. Done!

Tip: If you like the look, but don’t want to expend the effort, check out these laser-cut Mirror Illusions from Interesting Particulars (they come with a mirror and a stick-on frame). I discovered Interesting Particulars at the Brooklyn Indie Market, and trust me: their products are gorgeous, unique, and extremely well priced for how beautiful and well made they are.
