On the porch outside the cabin, next to the neon palm tree.

(I have really limited wireless service here, by the way, so I’m working extremely quickly whenever I do get a connection. Apologies if there are any typos!)

We arrived in Tampa last night only to discover that it was a) raining and b) frigid (hence the continued presence of my puffy Gap coat).

We stopped for porterhouse steaks at a steakhouse near Hernando (where we’re staying), but I was pretty anxious to get back to Eddie & Sharon’s because…well…it’s the coolest place I’ve ever seen. Above is the guest house that Kendrick and I will be staying in for the next few days, decorated with assorted string lights and a big neon palm tree.

I think pasta machines make a really cool gift - I got one for my dad a few years ago, and he and I have had a lot of fun learning how to use it together (fresh pasta really is a whole other thing. You barely even want to put sauce on it…my favorite way to dress it is with butter and mixed sauteed mushrooms).

There are tons of options in a wide range of prices; the CucinaPro 150 Imperia Pasta Machine (pictured above), which gets great reviews, is $57.70 on Amazon.

Tonight at the Carbon Holiday Party over at The Box, with Dr. Bobby.

So beautiful! I once dyed my hair dark brown with the goal of having it look like this (hint: it didn’t).

I miss Julia TONS - we haven’t seen each other in wayyyy too long - but we will be doing some serious catching up when I return from Florida.

I recently learned about Frosty Paws ice cream dog treats from Kendrick’s cousin and his wife, whose dog I watched go absolutely insane over one of these things when I was in Ohio, and I think I might have to treat Lucy to a box or ten upon my return to make up for not bringing her with me to Florida.
