11. Crystals with holes running through them (like the ones I used here) can be found in many thrift shops or trimmings stores. Thread them through with gold (or silver, or clear) wire.

Lamp Refurbish (Steps 9-10)
9. Apply bronze or gold fast-dry enamel (I use Plasti-Kote Brush-On, but whatever you find in your local hardware store is fine) to selected areas with a small brush - a couple of coats might be necessary for full coverage.
Lamp Refurbish (Steps 4-8)
4. Choose your wallpaper (I like really dramatic, graphic prints on such small areas, and am crazy about this Blackbird wallpaper from Cavern Home).
Lamp Refurbish (Steps 1-3)
1. Locate a dilapidated old lamp desperately in need of some love (found items are preferable, but a thrift shop or parents’ basement will do).
Lamp Refurbish
In this segment, I find an old lamp on the street outside my apartment and refurbish it with the help of Stephen (yup, my downstairs neighbor and one of my best friends) from Cavern Home.
Shooting in my kitchen with the wonderful people from Meredith (another lamp refurbish, as you can see - video to come).

- Jordan
First of all, hello everyone! We're so excited to be guest posting for Jordan while she soaks up the sun this week!
Like Jordan, my co-blogger Erin and I are big fans of dragging in furniture off the street to fix up and make our own. This little end table was no exception. Walking one night in my old neighborhood, I spied it next to pile of trash destined for the landfill and immediately knew I had to rescue it. (There were actually two, but I could only carry one at a time in the cold all the way home. Not going back for the second one is a decision I still regret!)
It’s redecorating day at Chez Jordan!
Me with Pam, our hostess for the evening.
Let me explain how I know Pam: I don’t, exactly (or, I didn’t until last night). In a series of odd coincidences, a friend sent her my lamp refurbish video, and she noticed that the street I am standing on in the beginning is her own street. She then noticed that her friend, Stephen, whom she hadn’t been in touch with for some time, was in the video with me, and put two and two together: both Stephen and I live directly across the street from her. Small world.
Anyway, she very sweetly invited all of us to her party, and I am so glad she did: she’s an event planner, and you could certainly tell from how seamlessly she planned the entire evening.
How To Paint Furniture
I’ve been buying furniture on the cheap and painting it myself for years for two reasons: 1) I have no money to buy new furniture, and 2) I’m generally looking for something very specific, which is tough in general, and especially so when your funds are limited.
