In this segment of “Domestic Bliss” I spend an afternoon at the Union Square Greenmarket learning about the best seasonal produce…and taste-testing some surprisingly flavorful flowers.
On Friday night, I made Linguine Carbonara for Kendrick, Stephen, and Dave.
In this segment, I find an old lamp on the street outside my apartment and refurbish it with the help of Stephen (yup, my downstairs neighbor and one of my best friends) from Cavern Home.
At the Cherry Lane Farm stand, I found some unbelievable green tomatoes, and since the day quickly turned rainy and miserable I figured it was a perfect opportunity to try my hand at making fried green tomatoes for the very first time.
I’ve never heard any of Kendrick’s original songs before - this really was my first time ever - and I somehow ended up on stage with a tambourine during the one that he wrote for me (go to the 1:00 mark for the song to start…there’s a bit of a debacle searching for the MIA drummer that takes some time to resolve).
