Five Things: Kelly Goldston, VP of Marketing for ELOQUII

Say hello to “Five Things,” a new series on RG that I’m super excited about: I’m partnering with DRIVEN for Women – a site that features weekly profiles of incredible women doing incredible things in the world, exploring how they got where they are and revealing their brilliant and savvy advice.

Say hello as well to our first profile: Kelly Goldston, the VP of Marketing for plus-size fashion online retailer ELOQUII. Kelly started working for ELOQUII in the unlikeliest of ways: because she made a big return to the store, received a phone call from customer service, and impressed them so much with her observations about the brand that she was asked to talk to the CEO…which led to a job, and ultimately led to her position as VP of Marketing for the brand. Really.

Check out Kelly’s five right-this-moment favorites below, and head over to DRIVEN to read the story of her unlikely – and amazing – career trajectory.

Five Things

1) Diptyque Lip Balm

I’m a lip balm fanatic and am never without at least five options in my purse and probably one tucked in my bra, too (you never know!). While my everyday habit is Carmex, this Diptyque lip balm has a delicate fragrance and lush texture that make every reapplication feel like a mini-spa break.

2) A Great Book

I love reading fiction and no matter how busy I am, I always read for at least 20-30 minutes before bed. It’s the best way to stop thinking about work and it always helps me sleep better, even when the book is a Gone Girl-esque thriller like my current read, Find Her by Lisa Gardner.

3) ELOQUII’s Hartwood Blazer

I have one hanging in the office at all times. It’s crisp, tailored and I can throw it on top of just about any outfit if I need to dial the boss level up a notch.

4) Dagne Dover Charlie Tote

I was a habitual three-bag carrier before I got this bad boy. It’s a laptop bag, purse and tote combined, with pockets for everything you could possibly think of. It holds everything I need for the day and stands up on its own, which doesn’t sound like a big deal but makes finding things much easier.

5) Slate NYC Cleaning Service

This is going to sound crazy, but go with me: Daily. Cleaning. Service. It sounds SO extravagant, but it’s basically taking a week’s worth of home cleaning and spreading it out over a 45 minute visit every weekday. It’s so nice to come home to a clean apartment every day, and I get to spend my very limited free time with my husband and friends instead of elbow-deep in Scrubbing Bubbles.
