Introducing: glam | camp

If I’ve seemed a little distracted over the past few months – slow to answer emails, maybe posting a little less – allow me to (finally!) present the reason why.

!!!!

Okay, so from time to time over the past couple of years, you’ve heard me talking about my friend Erin. We met when she read my post about how to buy your first house and emailed me some questions about Westchester, since she was looking to buy in a neighboring suburb, and then we began hanging out after our mutual broker insisted we’d get along and dragged Erin to one of my book signings. We started having grown-up crafting playdates. We discovered a mutual love of junk-shop browsing and making stuff out of other stuff. And eventually we started fantasizing about opening a little brick-and-mortar store in Tarrytown where we’d be able to sell the weird things we made, plus other people’s weird things.

And then I moved.

But we were still so excited about this idea of ours that we decided: what the hell, let’s go ahead and do it anyway.

So! Drumroll drumroll (and heart palpitations, eeee)…I’d like to introduce you to our collaboration: glam | camp, an online shop selling gifts and neat little finds for babies, for the home, and for you. Things like cactus pillows and flamingo embroideries and jewelry with a purpose and baby bibdanas (because they’re the best). Some of it we make; some of it is made by other people; all of it is stuff we love.

A sampling of my favorite pieces in the shop:

If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve seen Goldie wearing the coolest little bibdanas, and you’ve seen me being all cagey about where they’re from: that’s because we’ve been waiting to launch them on glam | camp. You can check out the full collection here, and we’ll be releasing new prints very soon.

be brave banner glam camp

Remember the California Girl banner that we hung at Goldie’s first birthday party? We worked with Maypole to create three exclusive-to-glam | camp designs (including “Be Brave,” pictured above) – I think they make such a cute addition to nursery decor (or any decor, really).

rise collective bracelet

More items available on the site: gorgeous jewelry from a variety of philanthropic design houses, one-of-a-kind pillows and framed embroideries, and oh, so many cacti.

internet troll charm

Also this necklace, which repels Internet trolls. Allegedly.

And finally, here’s a gift idea for the impossible-to-shop-for: a handmade, one-of-a-kind embroidery based on your favorite Instagram image (if you think you recognize the one above, that’s because you do).

I am crazy-excited about this shop, and hope you are too. Would love to hear your thoughts – and thank you (so so so) much for checking it out!

P.S. If you live in the Bay Area, we’re throwing a little camp out (basically a mini-launch party with cocktails and s’mores) at a local boutique on Saturday – would love to see you there!
