Pretty Little Things

Lulu & Georgia Pillow and Lamp | Pendleton Blanket

OK, so the renovation projects I’ve been doing have been SO much fun…but now that the majority of them (not all of them, no no, but the majority of them) are sort of winding down, I’m in finishing-touches mode. I’ve always decorated in a sort of mishmosh way – a lamp that my parents were going to toss, a blanket that I bought for my dorm room and have dragged back and forth across the country ever since, whatever light fixture was already present when I moved into wherever I’m living at the moment, et cetera.

But this house is so special to me – I’ve been putting so much work into it – that it’s exciting to look at each room, take a step back, and see if there’s any last little touch that might make it feel…perfect.

Have I mentioned that I am, as of late, quite obsessed with Lulu & Georgia? Totally obsessed. I discovered the brand about twenty years after everyone else, when I was hunting around for a rug to put in our dining room and came across The Rug Of My Dreams (for real; for years now I’ve been looking for a vaguely Southwestern-inspired, pink-but-not-too-pink, faded-but-not-too-faded rug, and then I saw the Painted Desert Rug, and oh: there it is). And so I bought it despite the fact that the prospect of owning a rug makes me incredibly nervous because of the two small and disobedient creatures we have running around these parts.

So far so good. (I think the fact that Lucy and Virgil probably suspect that I will send them into the foothills to live with a squirrel family if they destroy my rug may have something to do with the extremely uncharacteristic good behavior happening at the moment.)

Lulu & Georgia Trays

I’m having trouble creating one of those lovely embeddable widgets for some reason, so here’s a link rundown of the pieces I’ve picked up for our place (in addition to the ones I bought, a couple of items sent by the brand gratis for inclusion in an upcoming shoot):

As an aside, this marks the very first time in my entire life I have had matching bedside lamps. It’s a milestone of sorts, I think.
