How-To: Get Rid Of Fruit Flies

(This is the only non-gross image I could find.)

Fruit flies gross me out so much. And since about 90% of my diet for the past year has consisted of strawberries, mangoes, and peaches, they have become way too much a part of my daily life for my liking.

I would really like them to go away. Now, please.

And like a little miracle person, my friend Morgan was there to my rescue. I take absolutely zero credit for this technique, so go ahead and send all your hugs and kisses her way.

1. Pour a couple of inches of apple cider vinegar into an open-mouth jar.

2. Add a couple of splashes of dish soap.

3. Top with Saran Wrap and poke a few holes in the top so the flies can get in, but not back out again (this made me feel mean until I remembered: they are fruit flies. And have about thirty seconds to live anyway).

Not even all that gross, as bug-removal methods go. Win!
