One more easy Valentine’s Day craft that’s especially good for very little kids, since it doesn’t require a whole lot in the way of control: a Cherry Blossom Card. The colors are pretty and spring-y, the setup is minimal, and you can make these into anything from small cards for your child’s classmates to a larger card for a parent or grandparent.
What You Need:
Construction paper
Washable pink – or red and white to combine – paint (either finger paint or regular paint, depending on whether your child prefers using his or her hands or a brush)
A brown crayon or marker
What You Do:
1. Fold the paper in half to make a card (or cut out a shape).
2. Draw on the cherry tree’s “branches” yourself.
3. Let your child use fingers or a paintbrush to paint on “blossoms” wherever they like. Add the sentiment of your choice, and you’re done!
