Stopover In Seattle (I.N.C Fashion Show & Rainy-Day Wanderings)

First of all, let me show you a very happy face.

That is me on my way into hair and makeup on Saturday morning, after having enjoyed eleven (!) hours of hotel-room sleep.

Eleven!

Seriously: none of that “exploring a city I’ve never really been to before” nonsense. No no; I was in my (truly spectacular W Hotel) bed and asleep with eye mask, earplugs and white noise iPhone app in full effect by eight thirty PM. It was wonderful.

I did manage to get a little pre-pass out exploring done, though. (Just a little.)

What I chose for my rainy-day wanderings: as-comfortable-as-possible layers (a Heartloom jacket with sweater sleeves, a Red23 striped tee, ancient leggings & a Botkier satchel to hold the little souvenirs I picked up for my guys).

My phone was dying after a day in transit, so I went old school (and displayed a rather astounding level of incompetence) while figuring out how to get from Point A to Point B.

Had to check out the waterfront.

For an early dinner, I took the advice of the hotel concierge and made my way over to Japonessa, where they deposited that enormous chirashi bowl in front of me…and then charged me thirteen dollars for it. Granted, it was happy hour, but still: that’s an unbelievable price for unbelievable sushi.

Next up, the reason I was in Seattle in the first place: the I.N.C. Winter Presentation at Macy’s, which I co-hosted with I.N.C. brand ambassador Camila Alves.

Here’s what I chose for my wardrobe:

Loved it (and loved what the stylist did to my hair – that’s what spraying individual strands with hairspray before curling will do; click here for my tutorial on curls that stay put).

The individual pieces:

Next stop: the show, where Camila and I sat right up there on the runway with the models and talked the audience through the looks: our favorite pieces, how we’d wear them, and what to look for as markers of quality.

Some more of my favorite items from the show, just ’cause:

Aaaaand that was Seattle. I’m now in Los Angeles, sitting on the sofa in Francesca’s apartment with a brand-new piercing (more on that later), about to head out for some baked sushi and possibly a little mischief. Things are good.
