Boulder, Day 1: Zig-Zag Scarves & Zombies, For Real

I’ve been in Boulder for about thirty hours now, and I’ve only ventured about ten feet from the front door of our hotel.

Don’t worry, I understand that Colorado is a fantastic place and I’m sure I’ll head out adventuring at some point later today (…I hear we’re shooting on a mountain somewhere?)…but we’ve been busy running around doing lots and lots (and lots) of fall/holiday fashion segments for Better TV, so there hasn’t been time for a whole lot else. (The segments, like the ones I shot in Miami, feature Crocs, which now makes things like snowboots and cold weather-appropriate slip-ons and all sorts of other wintry styles – and yes, I was surprised too. Click here for some more behind-the-scenes shots on their FB page.)

I loved the look that the makeup artist created for me – it’s a bit softer than what I usually do, with powder liner rather than liquid and warm, rosy blush. The lipstick – a mix of Sue Devitt Lip Intensifier Pencil in Kirakira and Clinique Almost Lipstick in Luscious Honey – is my own, and my favorite shade at the moment. I’m sorta over the red for the time being, and am enjoying looking a little more natural.

Here’s Katie and me cuddled up in the (gorgeous) lobby of the St. Julien Hotel like a very romantic little couple. We even match.

Katie’s nail polish, incidentally, is totally my favorite color for Spring.

Alright, this pasta is serious business. Basically, whatever genius runs the hotel restaurant decided that it would be a good idea to create a “pasta bar” where you can pick any ingredients that you like, in any quantities that you like, hand them to a chef, and have him make you some joy on a plate.

I will be recreating this upon my arrival back on the East Coast, and you will love it. I promise.

That’s my smize. I think Tyra would be proud.

(Part of this segment featured the ChicTweak scarf and Swati Jr* earrings pictured above.)

And here is the single most important thing that happened during Day 1 of my Boulder Trip:

I MET A ZOMBIE.

I don’t even know what else to say about that.
