Polka Dots & Pastels

I love this look.

I wore it to Passover dinner with my family on Sunday night, and when my mom got into the back seat of our car (we picked her up on the way over to my aunt’s) and saw me bundled up in a coat and jeans she was all… “Oh. Huh.” [Vague judgmental expression.] “I thought you’d be wearing a dress.”

Because sure, it’s true – I do usually dress up a bit for holiday dinners – and also because, you know…moms say stuff like that. I can vouch for this fact, because now I’m a mom, which means that I say stuff like that when Kendrick puts clothing onto our child without my input (“Oh. Huh.” [Not-so-vague-judgmental-expression.] “I thought he’d be wearing a collared shirt/jeans without finger-paint stains on them/something at least vaguely season-appropriate”).

It’s hormonal.

But then we arrived at my aunt’s, and I took off my coat, and my mom goes: “OH! Well, that’s lovely!”

Pastel cardigans are such wonderful little problem-solvers.

These jeans have polka dots on them. I know you can’t really tell. But I think that’s an important thing to note.

On me: T.J. Maxx jacket, shirt and jeans, bag c/o Brahmin, Cole Haan heels, Elizabeth & James sunglasses, bangles from Alexander McQueen and Alex & Ani.
