Accessible Decor: A Nod To Nautical

I love beach-house-style decor, but when one doesn’t…you know, own a beach house (or live within spitting distance of any particularly charismatic shore at all, for that matter) the goal is more Nautical Nods than full-on Nantucket All Day, Every Day.

What’s fun about this space is that it blends beachy comfort with modern lines – the color palette is simple, and it’s all about the details. Bonus: if you limit your theme to accent pieces like pillows, throw rugs, and wall hangings, it’s easy to switch up if you start craving something different.

(The best part of this room, in my opinion? The seashell mirror, which is easy to DIY – my friend Francesca makes seashell-covered mirrors and jewelry boxes every summer with glue and shells she’s collected on the beach.)
