Nary A Dry Spot

Lately, I’ve become a Moisturizing Nut. The obsession started a few months ago, when I became diligent about rubbing various things into my stomach every evening to prevent stretch marks (mostly because that’s what my mom said she did, and she doesn’t have any)…but now I’m hearing that moisturizing doesn’t really do much in that regard (although it does help with pregnancy-related itchiness).

No matter; I moisturize myself to pieces anyway, since a) it can’t hurt, and b) my skin and my nails are two things I like to try to keep looking decent in the summer (since my hair is a lost cause). A head-to-toe application of beautiful-smelling things has become an essential part of my wind-down-at-night routine, and really, it has made such a difference: I’m naturally a bit of an alligator, but lately I’m getting compliments on my (body) skin (my face is a little more problematic; more on that later) from just about everyone.

My favorite moisturizers for your various parts:

Face: Fusion Beauty Tinted Moisturizer Plus SPF 15 for daytime (more on this product here); Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Moisturizer at night

Body: Eucerin Everyday Protection Body Lotion with SPF 15 for daytime; Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream at night

Legs (they get a special category just because I love this product so much): Votre Vu On Holiday (a spray-on oil with an incredible scent and beautiful sheen; a great way to make your legs look gorgeous in shorts or a mini)

Belly: Clean Shower Fresh Moisture Rich Body Butter*

Hands: Votre Vu Duette (has a handy lip balm in the cap and smells like cookies)

Feet/Rough Spots: Carmex Healing Cream

Of course you could just use one product for the entire body, in which case I’d recommend the following:

Gourmet: Clean Shower Fresh Soft Body Lotion* (with a touch of the Body Butter on rougher spots)

Budget: Eucerin Everyday Protection Body Lotion with SPF 15

Any other moisturizer recommendations?
