2 Delicious Things (& A Guinness)

Yesterday included:

– Brunch with Anna at Penelope. Highly recommended both for brunch and lunch; it’s a bright, cozy little place perfect for catching up with a friend, and I love that they serve a gorgeous brunch menu on weekdays until 11:45, including things like pumpkin waffles and sake Bloody Marys. Not recommended: the oatmeal, just because of the size (I need more food than that for brunch).

– Semi-homemade pizza. I wasn’t in the mood to make dough, so I topped the (perfectly acceptable, although the edges spread a bit oddly, as you can see in the lower right corner) Pillsbury stuff with a sauce I made with crushed tomatoes simmered with onions and chopped mushrooms, shredded mozzarella (way, way, way too much, per Kendrick’s request), and pitted cured olives a la Grimaldi’s.

– Guinness moustaches. We met up with our friends Pete and Noah, and did a sort of mini-pub crawl that included The Heidelberg specifically because it is not Irish, and we could actually get close enough to the bar to order a drink.
