Easy, Breezy, Spring-y Neutrals

I told you I love neutrals for spring (and…well…generally).

Saying goodbye to the bad weather is such an awesome feeling that I like to up the awesomeness of it all by feeling completely relaxed and pretty when I leave the house in the morning: casual, for sure…but no more schlubbing about in Uggs and leggings (well…less schlubbing, anyway). And to me, sexiness is all about comfort.

It’s a pretty simple equation:

Comfortable = Happy

Happy = Pretty

Comfortable = Pretty

My favorite part of this outfit (after the comfort thing) is that the entire look (minus the accessories) cost less than $150, top-to-bottom. I am all about the H&M sale racks, and they’ve become my new best friend in the past month or so – all the winter stuff is being moved out, so you can find lots of thin, slouchy sweaters that’ll take you well through the end of spring (and will even work on summer evenings).

Ooh, those dirty knees. But hey – that’s what you get from crawling about on a rooftop.

Bracelets really shouldn’t match. Where’s the fun in that?

From Top: faux diamond bracelet bought for my wedding day (about $3); Tuleste Market Rosette Bracelet; shell necklace (a gift from our friend Nick to Kendrick; I stole it); Henri Bendel Bangle (part of a set of three).

Remember those boots? The ones that left me hopping home the other night? Well, I found a fabulous shoemaker right down the street from my apartment, and he re-attached the heel and spruced them up for just $26.

That bag is one of my favorite possessions of all time: I bought it in Spain, when I was staying at my friend Ali’s parents’ place for a week while on break from University College London (where I studied abroad). It was made by a local artisan, and it’s one of those things that just gets better and better with age.

(It was breezy up there in the sky.)

On me: H&M sweater ($10 on sale); H&M knit cardigan ($34.95); 7 For All Mankind jeans ($15 on Peppermint Park; use code RSG for two months’ free membership); Urban Outfitters sunglasses ($10); Bakers boots (about $85 a couple of years ago).

Get the look:
