Kenneth Cole Spring 2011 Blogger Preview

OK, so that might have been the best night ever.

Ever!

Let’s start at the beginning.

I wore a cape! From Talbots. I’ve actually owned this thing for almost a year, since last fall’s Talbots shopping excursion with Meghan, and have never figured out how to wear it without looking like…I was wearing a cape. But now I’m in love with it. Unfortunately, there’s only about three weeks during the year when an article of clothing like this is weather-appropriate, but I’m going to take full advantage.

Now, the event. Along with twenty or so other bloggers, I was invited to attend a preview of Kenneth Cole‘s Spring 2011 Collection. It was…amazing. A total I-can’t-believe-I’m-here moment.

That’s me. With Kenneth Cole. 🙂

The collection: mostly neutral with pops of neon, and inspired by the mountains, the desert, and the rainforest.

Above, two of my favorite people to hang out with at events, and generally: Jennifer from The Gloss and Katy from Sugarlaws.

During dinner, men who looked like this circled our table holding trays displaying accessories. Really.

See?

Dinner was tied to the theme of the collection (appetizer = mountains, entree = desert, dessert = rainforest), and was totally bizarre and spectacular. Above, that’s our entree – brussels sprouts, sage-wrapped chicken, and lentils topped with an enormous square of porcini polenta.

For me, the highlight of the collection was the accessories, specifically the snakeskin clutch on the left and the briefcase on the right (which I love as a woman’s bag, actually). I was also a big fan of the orange pieces; I’ve never worn much of the color, but I might need to start…especially when we’re talking neon sheaths paired with rugged bags like this one:

Adooooooore backpacks generally, and this one specifically.

Like I said: amazing.
