Rainy Day Coffee / Peppermint Park

After wrapping Monday morning’s segments, I headed over to Starbucks for a little rainy-day caffeinating with Jessie Conners, CEO of online shopping mecca Peppermint Park and client of my much-adored partner-in-crime, Felix. For the first ten minutes of our meeting I sort of stared at Jessie, trying to figure out where we had met before, and then finally decided that she just looked exactly like Phoebe Cates. But then we got to chatting about her employment history…and, oh yes, that’s it: she was one of the contestants on the first season of The Apprentice (the one also starring Bill, Heidi, Kwame, and Omarosa…and the only season I ever watched). Where-do-I-know-you-from mystery: solved!

Anyway, she is very lovely, as you can see, but is also a very lovely person, and her company is awesome. In a nutshell: it’s a members-only shopping site that gives you access to unbelievable – seriously, unbelievable – prices on designer clothing from a bazillion amazing designers.

For example:

$195 down to $37 makes exactly no sense to me. But I’ll take it. Mostly because even if I paid for one month of membership ($10) that would make the price of these things $47, which is still an amazing deal.

Unlike with Gilt Groupe, you pay a small membership fee, but also unlike with Gilt Groupe, you don’t have to wait around to see what’s available for purchase, you can pick and choose from a huge amount of merchandise (not just a handful of designers a day)…aaaaand – best part – you accrue cash for every friend you refer, plus extra cash for every purchase your friends make.

More on Peppermint Park later…and stay tuned, because Jessie offered to do a fun Peppermint Park giveaway on Ramshackle Glam in just a few weeks!

PP membership generously provided gratis.
