MY FATHER-IN-LAW’S APPLE CRISP

1. Preheat your oven to 375F.

2. Fill a baking dish with tart apple slices (peeled).

3. Mix in about 3tbsp of sugar or a can of cherry pie filling.

4. Now, the topping: In a bowl, mix together 1 cup rolled oats, 1 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup flour, 1/2 tsp cinnamon. Cut in 1/2 cup butter until mixture is crumbly.

5. Layer the topping over the apples in the baking dish by sprinkling it on and patting it into place.

6. Bake for about 40 minutes (maybe a little more), until apples are bubbling and look tender and top is golden.

7. Delicious either served chilled or warm with a scoop of ice cream.
